Manchester City have entered the race to sign RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons, according to Sacha Tavolieri.
City are preparing for the departure of Savinho by eyeing up the potentially hijacking of Simons from fellow Premier League club, Chelsea.
The club has reestablished contact with super agent Ali Barat in order to lure the Dutch internationally away from joining the London side.
Chelsea are continuing talks with the RB Leipzig playmaker and hope to finalise a deal in the near future. However, with City’s registered interest, it remains to be seen whether Xavi’s head will be turned.
The player has longed been linked with a move away from Saxony this summer, following the club’s failure to secure any form of European football for the upcoming season.
For a while, there appeared to be no takers for Xavi, reportedly for his attitude. However, it now appears that Xavi is set for a move to the Premier League – either with Chelsea or Pep Guardiola’s Man City.
