La Liga champions Barcelona look set to play out one of the club’s league fixtures this coming season in the United States of America.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Sunday provided an insight into the situation.
It is of course common knowledge that La Liga president Javier Tebas has long been actively pushing for two of Spanish football’s leading clubs to lock horns in a competitive setting stateside.
Last season, as much almost came to fruition on more than one occasion. This time round, though, Tebas finally looks set to have his wish granted…
As per a report from Sport:
‘Villarreal vs Barça is one step away from being played in Miami.’
This fixture, as things stand, has been pencilled in for December 21st, at Villarreal’s La Cerámica ground.
If the latest chatter stemming from Spain this weekend is anything to go by, though, then a move to the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida, looks increasingly likely, a potentially historic development for La Liga.
