Fabian Ruiz has been handed a 15-day ultimatum for a contract renewal at Napoli.
Sky Italia have reported about the situation of Ruiz, who is yet to sign a new deal at the Partenopei with his current deal expiring in the summer of 2023.
Napoli have offered an extension for a single season and they are willing to insert a release clause in the deal which will last till the summer of 2024. There is still no agreement about the figures of the move, with Aurelio de Laurentiis having handed the player and his entourage an ultimatum of 15 days.
If the response does not arrive by then, Ruiz will remain on the market and his agents will look to find the best possible solution. There is also a chance that the Spaniard could stay at the club till the summer of 2023 and leave for free. There has been speculation recently about the exits of both the midfielder and Kalidou Koulibaly.
The Azzurri paid the release clause of €30 million euros to sign Ruiz from Real Betis, while the player signed a five-year contract for €2.5 million euros per season.
