AS Monaco confirmed the arrival of Lukas Hradecky (35) just hours earlier and another one of the Principality club’s goalkeepers, Radoslaw Majecki (25) has left.
The Polish goalkeeper managed to take the No.1 jersey in the second half of the 2023/24 season, following some shaky performances from Philipp Köhn. However, Majecki was unconvincing at times last season and so the No.1 jersey was passed between the Polishman and Köhn.
At the end of last season, Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro said that the goalkeeper situation would be addressed during the transfer window. It has taken a while, however, the Principality have now found their new No.1 – Hradecky. The Finnish goalkeeper has joined in a €2m deal, as confirmed on Friday night.
Hradecky’s arrival pushed Majecki down to third choice. Without a prospect of game time, he has joined Stade Brestois on a season-long loan, which does not include the option to make the deal permanent.
