An insight into some of the contenders to join the captaincy group at La Liga giants Barcelona this summer has been forthcoming online.
According to Mundo Deportivo, four players have emerged as potential options to take on leadership roles.
The subject of the captaincy situation has of course emerged as a prominent talking point in Catalunya’s capital across the day to date.
This comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that the Camp Nou brass are considering stripping Marc-André ter Stegen of his armband.
Having finally become fed up with the German’s behaviour, Hansi Flick and co. are ready to take decisive action.
As much will see a spot open up in Barca’s five-man captaincy group, alongside the current quartet of Ronald Araújo, Frenkie de Jong, Pedri, and Raphinha.
And as alluded to above, on Friday evening, an insight into some of the leading candidates to secure a captaincy berth at the Camp Nou has been provided.
As per a report from MD:
‘There are strong candidates to join the captaincy group, such as Iñigo Martínez, Robert Lewandowski, Ferran Torres and even Lamine Yamal.’
