WAZ reports that Wolfsburg are set to complete the signing of Jesper Lindstrøm (25) on loan with an option to buy. The Dane is reportedly already in the city ahead of the player’s medical.
This comes just days after Wolfsburg’s initial interest in Lindstrøm arose. The Bundesliga side are expected to pay Napoli a €1m loan fee with a €13m purchase option although final talks between the two clubs are ongoing.
Lindstrøm – who spent last season on loan at Premier League side Everton – provided just one assist in 1,464 minutes across 29 appearances for the Toffees last season, and with the signings of Noah Lang and Kevin de Bruyne at Napoli, there’s likely to be fewer minutes available for the Denmark international who wasn’t needed last season.
As for Wolfsburg, Lindstrøm is set to become the club’s latest high profile signing following the arrival of Vinicius Souza from Sheffield United for €15m. VfL are also working on a deal to sign Norwich City attacker Josh Sargent for €20m.
