Mike Tyson has an interesting pick for the most beautiful fighter in the sport of boxing right now.
The 59-year-old, once revered as one boxing’s hardest-hitting heavyweights and the youngest champion ever in that division, remains invested in the sport and frequently attends the world’s biggest bouts. Tyson is also renowned for having an encyclopedic knowledge of the sport. Despite his role as a participant, and a Hall-of-Fame member, he also possesses extraordinary skills as a historian.
In recent days, he leaned on his passion for the sport to identify a boxer he described as “beautiful” — and the boxer is one who continues to operate in the sport today, and could go on to develop their in-ring beauty even further.

Mike Tyson’s Interesting Pick For ‘Beautiful’ Boxer
Tyson’s opinion carries weight because of his renowned knowledge of boxing, and its history
Tyson revealed his pick for beautiful boxer when addressing his 6.3 million followers on X, and his selection may surprise some, as that fighter’s style divides popular opinion.
“In my opinion, Shakur Stevenson looked the best he ever looked in his last fight” against William Zepeda earlier this month, said Tyson. “Those masterful combinations and head movements. He’s still young and doing that, and he looked superb.”
A reason for Tyson’s praise going against the grain is that Stevenson was arguably one of several fighters whom the sport’s financier Turki Alalshikh singled out for, what he called, “Tom and Jerry boxing.” This is a style of boxing Alalshikh appeared to loathe, as it can create boredom amongst fans who paid to watch.
What Stevenson does, though, is hit while not getting hit. And that is a trait Tyson said he loves. “Everybody wants him to show people he can take a punch, but the art is hit and not get hit. That’s boxing and that [Zepeda] was the best fighter he ever fought.
“The fight was tough, and he beat him with no problem. In the middle of the ring, he was beautiful.”
While Tyson was full of praise for Stevenson, he did address one area in which he thinks the 28-year-old could improve. “I just don’t like when he gets on the ropes for too long.”
A three-weight world champion in boxing, southpaw boxer Stevenson continues to grow in the sport after wins over Jamel Herring, Oscar Valdez, and, now, Zepeda. But, regardless, of his pound-for-pound status, and one of the great defensive wizards, he took Tyson’s comments on board — and drew particular attention on the constructive criticism he gave.
“Thank you, legend,” Stevenson said. “I appreciate you for that. I will go back to the drawing board and correct that mistake!”
