According to a report from Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool have now reached a formal agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign Hugo Ekitiké (23). The Frenchman attracted interest from several clubs this summer, including Newcastle United and Manchester United.
The Athletic reported last night that the Premier League champions had reached an ‘outlined agreement’ with the Bundesliga club to sign the 23-year-old, but more work was needed before the agreement could be considered formal. After new talks this morning, an official agreement has been reached that will see the Reds sign Ekitiké for a fee in the region of €95m, including add-ons.
Personal terms have already been agreed between the French striker and Liverpool. Ekitiké is set to sign a 6-year contract with the Merseyside outfit, which is set to keep him at Anfield until 2031. The former Paris Saint-Germain forward will now travel to England to complete his medical before being officially unveiled as a new player.
