Victor Osimhen possible future Man Utd transfer boost

Manchester United could reportedly still benefit from the potential transfer of Victor Osimhen from Napoli to Galatasaray.

The prolific Nigeria international had a successful loan spell at Galatasaray last season, though few felt it was likely that he’d stay there permanently.

Now, however, it seems a deal is close, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, though the deal will include an intriguing clause.

It seems there will be a clause in the deal that prevents Galatasaray selling Osimhen to another Serie A club until the year 2027.

According to the Manchester Evening News, this could end up benefiting Man Utd as there’s still the sense that Osimhen views this move to Turkey as a stepping stone towards a bigger move later.

Victor Osimhen has been linked with Manchester United

United urgently need a new striker this summer, and Osimhen looks like someone who could perfectly fit the bill.

The 26-year-old scored 37 goals in 41 games in all competitions last season, while he also found the back of the net 48 times in his final two seasons with Napoli.

A previous report from Gazzetta dello Sport also stated that United were viewed as a dream move by Osimhen, so it will surely be one to watch for the future.

Who could Man United sign up front this summer?

See below as Fabrizio Romano has reported on MUFC being keen on signing a new striker in this transfer window…

Romano hasn’t mentioned specific names yet, but CaughtOffside have previously been told about a few possible candidates.

Liam Delap was wanted by United before he joined Chelsea, but names like Jean-Philippe Mateta and Randal Kolo Muani have been internally discussed since then.

Meanwhile, there have also been links with Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins by the Daily Mirror, Give Me Sport and others.
