LeBron James is one of the greatest NBA players of all time and, over the course of his illustrious career, he has seen, played with and played against some of the greatest athletes to ever step onto a basketball court. He’s teamed up with all-time greats like Dwyane Wade, Anthony Davis and Luka Doncic, while he’s faced off against legends like Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant and Steph Curry.
As a result, he knows a thing or two about quality basketball players and when he praises someone, it holds a lot of weight. In fact, anything he says about basketball is worth listening to, so fans were thrilled when he launched the Mind of the Game podcast, where he’d regularly discuss the sport.
Initially, he started the show with J.J Reddick, but now he hosts it with Steve Nash. It was during his time with Reddick, though, when LeBron described one NBA star as the most gifted player that the league has ever seen.

As already mentioned, the King has played with an incredible list of NBA stars throughout his career. You could build a championship-winning roster with the stars he’s teamed up with in the past. One player in particular stood out to him, though, and during an episode of the Mind the Game podcast last year, he revealed he thought Kyrie Irving was the most gifted player that the NBA had ever seen.

Speaking to Reddick about the point guard, as quoted by Yahoo Sports, LeBron said:
“I would call Kyrie ‘the wizard’ all the time. There was nothing on the basketball floor that Kyrie couldn’t do. And sitting here watching it, I’m playing like, so f***ing happy and so proud. And to watch him continue his growth and at the same time, I’m so f***ing mad that I am not his running mate anymore. I just remember those times. To have a guy like Kyrie Irving as the ultimate wild card, that’s like having a ‘draw four’ in your hand every time someone deals you cards in Uno.
“I have so many words to praise Kyrie that I end up with absolutely none, because he’s the most gifted player the NBA has ever seen. He has the best gifts I’ve ever seen of any NBA player.”
The two men played together with the Cleveland Cavaliers between 2014 and 2017, winning one NBA championship together before Irving was traded to the Boston Celtics. James himself left one year later and joined the Los Angeles Lakers as a free agent, where he’s since won another NBA title. Still, he misses playing alongside his former running mate it seems.
