Inter Milan competing with Atletico Madrid for Ademola Lookman

Inter Milan have joined the race to sign Atalanta striker Ademola Lookman this summer, as reported by Corriere dello Sport.

Having already secured the services of Ange Yoan-Bonny, the Nerazzurri are planning for more attacking reinforcements.

With Marko Arnautovic’s departure and Mehdi Taremi linked with an exit, Inter have set their sights on Lookman as a potential target.

The Nigerian could be on the move this summer after attracting interest from some of the European heavyweights.

Barcelona have been keeping tabs on Lookman in their search for a top-quality left-winger, but their financial struggles are proving to be a stumbling block in the deal.

Fellow Spanish rivals Atletico Madrid have also made contact with Lookman’s entourage despite reaching an agreement for Argentine attacker Thiago Almada.

Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio is pushing to broker a potential deal, while La Dea are holding out for €50 million for their star forward.

The former Leicester City star has enjoyed a phenomenal resurgence at Atalanta as one of the prominent attackers in Europe.

After leading Atalanta to the Europa League glory in the 2023/24 season, the 27-year-old followed up with a prolific campaign last term, bagging 20 goals and seven assists in all competitions.

His versatility to play as a focal point in the attack, second striker and on the wings is one of his valuable assets in his game.

Despite having Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram in their ranks, Inter’s pursuit of Lookman shows that they want to build a formidable squad to return to the summit this season.

Inter have also lined up RB Leipzig’s Lois Openda and Monaco’s Eliesse Ben Seghir as potential alternatives if they fail to land Lookman.
