In a surprising twist, RB Leipzig have hijacked Bayer Leverkusen’s move for Johan Bakayoko and now look set to sign the winger, according to Sky Germany.
Over the weekend, Bayer Leverkusen looked increasingly likely to secure the signing of Johan Bakayoko from PSV.
However, according to Sky Germany, RB Leipzig have hijacked the move and now appear set to sign the Belgian winger ahead of Die Werkself.
The German outlet even reports that Leverkusen have withdrawn from the race.
Leipzig are now working on finalising a deal worth around €20 million with PSV, having already agreed personal terms with Bakayoko.
As reported by transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the 22-year-old was left out of PSV’s training session on Monday, with a move to Germany looking imminent.
