Several Bundesliga clubs are playing their first test game over the weekend.
Newly-promoted side Köln beat fifth-tier Bergisch Gladbach 7-1 in their first preseason game. Linton Maina (x2), Steffen Tigges and Luca Waldschmidt – who were all played in Köln’s last Bundesliga campaign – are among the goal scorers. New signing Ragnar Ache also found the net in his unofficial debut for Effzeh.
Meanwhile, FC Augsburg beat seventh-tier TSV Gersthofen 9-0 to start their preparation for the new season. There were nine different names in the scoring chart for the Bavarian club in Sandro Wagner’s first match.
Werder Bremen, Hamburg, Hoffenheim, Union Berlin, Stuttgart and St. Pauli are currently in action as the season will start next month with the first round of the DFB-Pokal.
