Hamburger SV’s chief personnel executive has confirmed the imminent arrival of two new players. Both RB Salzburg midfielder Nicolas Capaldo and RB Leipzig striker Yussuf Poulsen are moving to the newly-promoted Bundesliga outfit. HSV board-member-for-sport Stefan Kuntz spoke on the transfers at a media roundtable on Thursday.
Capaldo – Hamburg’s specifically targeted replacement for the departed Ludovit Reis – will likely be formally introduced before Poulsen. In the case of the latter, Hamburg need just a bit more time to work out the Danish striker’s annual stipend. From the very beginning, it’s been reported that Poulsen is willing to take a pay-cut in order to move to the Hanseaten.
“We’re just about at the finish line,” Kuntz said of the Capaldo deal. “If all goes well, we might be able to crack on with it tomorrow.“
“It’s looking pretty good,” Kuntz said with reference to the Poulsen deal. “We’re on the home stretch. It’s a matter of three, four, five days.”
