Two Key PSG Players Banned For Club World Cup Final vs Chelsea

Paris Saint-Germain have been dealt a blow ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup final, as it’s been confirmed that the club will be without two of its key players when they take on Chelsea on Sunday. The Ligue 1 champions have been in blistering form throughout 2025. They ran away with the French first division, then lifted their first ever Champions League, demolishing Inter Milan 5-0 in the final.

Now, they’re just one victory away from winning the FIFA Club World Cup in its brand-new format. Only Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea stand in their way. Considering they’ve already beaten the likes of Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, 4-0, 2-0 and 4-0 respectively, though, they won’t be too worried.

With that said, the Blues aren’t going to be a walk in the park for PSG. Especially now that it’s been confirmed that Luis Enrique will be without two key figures when they face off in the final.

PSG Will Be Without Pacho and Lucas Hernandez Against Chelsea

The two remain suspended after their red cards in the quarter-final

Considering their form this year, PSG could be considered the best team in the world, but they’ll be shorthanded when they take on Chelsea, with Willian Pacho and Lucas Hernandez both suspended for the final. The two defenders were both shown straight red cards and were sent off in the quarter-final victory over Bayern Munich.

The pair were handed two-match suspensions for their actions against the Bundesliga champions and, as a result, they will be forced to watch on from the sidelines as PSG compete in the final on Sunday. Enrique was without them against Real Madrid on Wednesday, though, and that didn’t prove to be a problem as they dismantled Los Blancos 4-0.

Fortunately for PSG, they won’t be without Joao Neves against Chelsea, despite the midfielder picking up his second yellow card of the tournament against Madrid. Throughout the competition, two yellow cards meant suspension, but as reported by SportBible, the threshold reset after the quarter-finals, so he is available for selection.
