According to a report from Sacha Tavolieri and Le Parisien‘s Marc Mechouana Chelsea are considering loaning goalkeeper Mike Penders (19) to Strasbourg this summer. The Belgian journalist reports however that internal discussions still need to take place within BlueCo to free up spots among their list of loaned players to the Alsatien club.
The Athletic reported last week that Chelsea duo Mathis Amougou (19) and Kendry Paez (18) were set to join RC Strasbourg Alsace on loan for next season. A move with Penders involved could impact whether Paez and / or Amougou could join the club on loan as well this summer. Amougou joined Chelsea from AS Saint-Étienne in the January transfer window, however, he has played only a handful of minutes for the first team
Chelsea share the same BlueCo owners as Strasbourg, and have qualified for the UEFA Champions League whilst Le Racing will play in the Europa Conference League. As the pair are not competing in the same competition, transfers and loans between the two entities are permitted.
