West Ham United supporters aren’t happy after the club revealed their new home kit for the 2025/26 season.
With no international tournament this summer in the mens game, there’s very little for football fans to sink their teeth into at the moment outside the relentless churn of transfer rumours, with varying degrees of reliability.
Kit launches have provided a welcome mid-summer reprieve for most supporters, getting a glimpse of what their team will be lining up in come next season.
But Irons fans really aren’t happy after the East Londoners unveiled their new home kit for the 2025/26 campaign. In fact, some of them are absolutely furious.
From a minimalist design that suggests low effort, to the absence of the second-half of the club’s iconic colourway of claret and blue, as well as overwhelming sponsor logos and a dodgy collar, it’s say to say the Hammers haven’t struck the right chord with their supporters over their new kit.

West Ham Fans React to New Home Shirt
Supporters unhappy with design and colour scheme
Irons fans are never ones to shy away from expressing how they feel, and that has certainly been the case on the club’s social channels after West Ham promoted their new kit on X earlier this week.
Directly replying to an official post from the Hammers directing fans towards the club shop, one supporter replied: “Not happy with this, it’s ugly.”
The criticism only got worse from there as fans questioned the complexity – or lack of – of the design:
“What a great effort by the designers..must have taken them ages”.
“It’s just a claret t-shirt. It wouldn’t take ten minutes to create that. This club make it so easy to save your money.”
“Dreadful design! Tradition isn’t such a bad thing, you know? This has cheap training top vibes.”
And many picked up on the lack of blue throughout the shirt, with one supporter stating: “Needs more blue.” Others added…
“It’s so simple to make a good West Ham kit. Claret top with blue sleeves and a bit of blue of the collar. White shorts and white socks. You can have fun within those parameters, but those are the essentials. This is poor.”
“Wrong shade of claret and where’s the blue? Looks like a Temu knock off. Awful.”
The cheap feel of the shirt compared to the cost – which starts at £75 for an adult mens shirt – was another key theme among the discourse.
“No West Ham, this is not it for £75!”, protested one supporter, as more joined in. “Like everything that Brady and Sullivan get their grubby hands on, it’s cheap and nasty and worst of all, not our beloved club.”
Some supporters even felt the kit was one of the club’s worst ever. One said: “Worst kit I’ve ever seen”, while another added “Worst kit we have ever had, absolute shocker.”
Others added: “Awful kit. Worst one for years”, and “Most boring kit in recent years – you already know it’s gonna cost £70”.

Hammers supporters aren’t happy right now
West Ham fans might have given the new kit the benefit of the doubt if the club appeared to be moving in a more positive trajectory. Last season was a disaster for the Irons; despite appointing a new manager with a decent reputation in Julen Lopetegui and making a number of high-profile signings, they simply couldn’t get going in the Premier League and eventually sacked the Spaniard, before hiring Graham Potter, as they became involved in the relegation battle.
Potter managed to steer them clear of any legitimate relegation bother, although much of that was due to the sheer inferiority of the three clubs that went down. But the 2024/25 season felt like a wasted one for the Hammers.
Starting the new season on a strong footing is vital for morale at the London Stadium, but the club’s kit launch seems to have had the opposite effect. It’s another misjudgement from the club’s owners, who consistently struggle to maintain goodwill among supporters.
