In a social media post, Bochum keeper Manuel Riemann apologized for an offensive comment aimed towards Gerrit Holtmann during training.

Manuel Riemann has apologized on Instagram for an insult directed at teammate Gerrit Holtmann in training, according to WAZ. Both players left the training session after the incident, but coach Thomas Reis has confirmed that Riemann will still start against Schalke this Saturday.
The goalkeeper stated in his Instagram post that, “I used a word during training today that you don’t use. People feel discriminated against when you use this word. I don’t want to repeat it either. I just wanted to apologize for that.”
Tensions are high in the Bochum camp with their winless start to the season. It’s reported that Reis must take a point from Matchday 6 to avoid getting sacked.
