Per Bild, Marseille will pay €3.5 million of midfielder Amine Harit’s €5 million salary with Schalke paying the rest. The Moroccan international has joined the French club on second consecutive season-long loan, as Schalke have now included a purchase option of €5 million in the deal.
This part of the agreement becomes a purchase obligation if Harit makes 15 appearances for Marseille this season. If all goes to plan, this clause will likely be met, giving Schalke a 10% fee if Harit is sold to another team in the future.
After several complications, the deal barely got through the door in the final hours of the summer transfer window.
