Former Barcelona star Gerard Piqué is in active talks with the club, over the possibility of taking several reserve team players to FC Andorra.
That’s according to Jijantes, who have on Thursday provided an insight into the situation.
Barca Atlètic are of course fresh off nothing short of a nightmare campaign in 2024/25.
After battling for promotion the season prior, the Blaugrana’s reserve outfit were ultimately condemned to relegation to Spanish football’s 4th tier.
As much means a drop in quality and opposition at a crucial point in the development of some of the Catalan club’s standout up-and-coming talents.
And it is for this reason that the aforementioned Gerard Piqué has entered the fray.
Barca icon Piqué is the current owner of FC Andorra, with his side fresh off being promoted to La Liga 2 for the 2025/26 term.
As revealed by Jijantes, in turn:
‘Barça and Andorra are in contact to loan players to gain experience in the 2nd division. Gerard Piqué has reached out to Barça in recent hours to explore possible moves for reserve team players.’
