Alaa Bellaarouch (23) was given a short run in the RC Strasbourg Alsace side following Matz Sels’ departure in January 2024. However, the academy product failed to convince. Following the arrival of Chelsea’s Djordje Petrovic on loan last summer, Bellaarouch did not make a single appearance for Les Alsaciens.
He has now left Strasbourg to join Portuguese side SC Braga. The club, who next season will compete in the UEFA Europa Conference League, have confirmed that an agreement has been reached for the goalkeeper’s sale.
Braga have confirmed that the 23-year-old goalkeeper has signed a five-year deal with the club. The fee for the Moroccan, who has featured for the Atlas Lions at U20 and U23 level, has not been disclosed.
In total, Bellaarouch made 19 appearances for the Strasbourg first team. All of those came during the 2023/24 campaign, marked by the departure of Sels to Nottignham Forest mid-season.
