‘Deal On’ – Fabrizio Romano: Arsenal in Direct Talks to Sign ‘Incredible’ Star

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Arsenal are in active talks to sign Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera.

It’s been a busy few days for the Gunners as they look to get some deals over the line for the summer transfer window. Arsenal are actually close to signing three players after breakthroughs in talks, with Martin Zubimendi and Kepa Arrizabalaga set to sign for the north London club.

Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard could also be on his way to the Emirates Stadium, with David Ornstein reporting that a deal is close to being agreed for the 31-year-old. After a relatively slow start to the summer transfer window, Mikel Arteta’s side are getting their ducks in order ahead of pre-season.

He’s a top target for the Gunners

Romano has now reported that the latest player who could be on his way to the Gunners is Valencia centre-back Mosquera, with Arsenal now in active talks to secure his signature.

“Arsenal are in active talks to sign Christian Mosquera as new centre back, with initial negotiations already ongoing. He’s among top targets for centre back position, talks ongoing with Valencia and player side. Deal on.”

Mosquera, described as ‘incredible’, is regarded as a ‘top target’ for Arsenal as they aim to improve their defensive options. With Mosquera having a year left on his deal, the Gunners might be able to secure themselves a bargain for a young player with potential who is also a regular in the Valencia side.

It will be interesting to see where Mosquera fits in to Arteta’s starting XI, considering the options he has at his disposal. It’s not going to be easy for the French defender to break into the side ahead of Gabriel or William Saliba, so the young centre-back may have to bide his time if he does make the move to the Emirates Stadium.
