Everton are doing their best to keep their talented young English centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite amid interest from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United.

Sources familiar with the situation have informed CaughtOffside that Everton are in talks with Branthwaite over a new contract, with the 22-year-old not currently thought to be pushing to leave Goodison Park.

Everton are aware of interest from top clubs such as Chelsea, Man United, Liverpool and Tottenham, and one source told us they’re really “rolling up their sleeves” to keep Branthwaite.

It remains to be seen if these talks will prove successful, but if Branthwaite leaves he would likely have an asking price of around £70m, as previously reported by the Daily Mail.

Jarrad Branthwaite transfer suitors revealed

Well-placed sources have revealed to CaughtOffside that the main teams currently showing an interest in Branthwaite are Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool and Spurs.

The Blues are exploring the market for central defenders this summer, with CaughtOffside‘s John Menzies reporting recently that four other names also feature in their thinking.

Jorrel Hato, Ousmane Diomande, Murillo and Piero Hincapie are also in Chelsea’s sights, but Branthwaite could be another fine opportunity for Enzo Maresca’s side if he cannot agree a new deal with Everton.

United also look like they could do with strengthening at the back this summer after such a dire 2024/25 campaign, and with Ruben Amorim’s switch to a back three meaning more centre-backs would be useful.

Could Branthwaite make shock Liverpool transfer?

It’s not often we see players moving between Everton and Liverpool, so could Branthwaite really be a serious target for the Red half of Merseyside?

For now, CaughtOffside understands no concrete talks have taken place, but the admiration for Branthwaite is there, so it could be one to watch.

Liverpool also need to look at defensive signings as Ibrahima Konate has rejected a new contract offer from the club.

Konate will be a free agent next summer and has interest from Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
