Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move for Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite this summer.
But a deal for the 22-year-old is expected to cost them a hefty fee as the Toffees are demanding a fee in excess of £70 million for a transfer, per journalist Ben Jacobs.
Cristian Romero’s future at Spurs has been a subject of speculation amid interest from Atletico Madrid.
Romero is said to be keen on linking up with Diego Simeone in Spain, and with two years remaining on his contract, the Lilywhites may decide to cash in on him.
Jacobs says there is no guarantee the 27-year-old will leave Tottenham this summer, but the club still have a few names lined up just in case.
Branthwaite has been a key figure in Everton’s backline for the last two seasons, making 86 appearances across all competitions and scoring four goals.
He starred in the 2024-25 campaign as he helped his side secure Premier League safety with ease.
The talented centre-back featured in 30 Premier League matches last term, averaging 6.3 clearances, 3.1 ball recoveries and 1.2 tackles per game.
Branthwaite has two years left on his current contract, but the Toffees have recently opened talks to tie him down to a new deal.
Manager David Moyes highly values the defender and is determined to keep him at the Merseyside club.
Branthwaite has been regularly linked with an exit, but it appears he is going nowhere given his huge importance for Everton.
