Bochum chief Hans-Peter Villis has confirmed that Thomas Reis will stay on as coach until further notice despite the club’s terrible start to the season.
Thomas Reis will remain head coach of VfL Bochum despite his team’s disastrous start to the season.
Bochum are bottom of the Bundesliga table, having lost all their five games so far this season following a 0-2 defeat at home against Werder Bremen on Matchday 5.
Accordingly, the pressure is mounting on Reis, but he will given at least one more game to save his job.
“At the moment, the scenario of a dismissal is not being considered,” said VfL Bochum chairman of the supervisory board Hans-Peter Villis in an interview with Bild.
“I didn’t see that the team didn’t stand by the coach against Bremen. The reaction of the fans was positive too.”
Bochum face fellow relegation candidates Schalke 04 this weekend.
