According to Phillip Kessler, Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić has played down fresh rumours that the club will seek to sign Harry Kane next summer.
Since the departure of Robert Lewandowski, rumours have been circulating that Bayern Munich are on the lookout for a traditional number nine.
As per a report from Sport Bild, the outlet claimed that both Salihamidžić and Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn had given the green light to try and sign the forward in 2023. However, Salihamidžić has denied such speculation during a press conference: “I don’t think Oliver Kahn is forcing a commitment from him. You can all take a step back there. There’s nothing to it.”
Of course, this is not to say that the club won’t enquire about the England and Tottenham Hotspur captain in the future if they are still in the market for a centre-forward.
However, goals don’t seem to be too much of an issue so far this season having already netted 17 times in five matches. Seven of these goals also came in one match when they dismantled Bochum 7-0.
