Eintracht Frankfurt have signed central defender Hrvoje Smolčić (21) from Croatian first division side HNK Rijeka for a reported €2.5m.
The left-footed defender has signed a contract keeping in Frankfurt until 2027 and brings good experience with him depiste his age.
Smolčić has featured for Croatia U21s and even captained his club side last season making 22 appearances and scoring one goal in the process.
Frankfurt’s sporting director Markus Krösche said: “We are proud that we were able to convince a highly talented defender like Hrvoje Smolčić of our path. With him we not only have a tackle player in our ranks from the summer, but also a technically strong player who can be used flexibly on the defensive. Despite his young age, Hrvoje has been convincing at national and international level for three years and was captain of his team this season for a reason.”
