Liverpool centre-forward Darwin Nuñez (25) is open to a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, according to Foot Mercato. After losing out on the SPL title to Al-Ittihad, Al-Hilal are planning for a transfer spree this summer. They are expected to admit defeat in their quest to sign Napoli wantaway centre-forward Victor Osimhen, who turned down a lucrative €40m per annum salary.
Nuñez would reportedly be more keen than the Nigerian international to pursue his career in the Middle East. Foot Mercato adds that Al-Hilal have established contact with the Uruguayan player’s representatives in recent hours. Still, the Riyad-based outfit are yet to submit a first official proposal to Liverpool.
Three years ago, the Premier League champions signed Nuñez from SL Benfica for a club record €85m transfer fee. Nuñez hasn’t really justified his transfer fee. He logged 40 goals and 26 assists over the course of three seasons with the Reds.
