Liverpool‘s long-term midfield target is Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham, says Dharmesh Sheth.
However, according to the Sky Sports reporter, the Merseyside club will have to wait until at least next summer to sign him.

What has been said about Bellingham and Liverpool?
Reports suggest that Liverpool are definitely interested in bringing Bellingham to Anfield.
In June, Sport Bild (via Liverpool Echo) claimed that the Reds were keen on signing the 19-year-old, who joined Dortmund from Birmingham City just over two years ago.
However, according to the German outlet, Dortmund were not prepared to sell the English youngster during this summer’s transfer window.
A move in the next summer window is a possibility, but the same Sport Bild report states that it will cost Liverpool or any other club interested in Bellingham €120m (around £104m) to acquire him.
What has Sheth specifically said about Bellingham and Liverpool?
Sheth has told GIVEMESPORT that Liverpool never had a chance of signing Bellingham in the window that has just gone after Erling Haaland’s departure from Dortmund. However, the Sky Sports reporter says he remains a target and expects him to be available next year.
Speaking to GMS, Sheth said: “Their long-term target is Jude Bellingham. That’s widely publicised, but it’s thought that that simply cannot happen until at least next summer.
“It’s very rare that they sell two of their prized assets in the same transfer window. Last summer, it was Jadon Sancho; this summer, it was Erling Haaland; and next summer, it’s thought that it will be Jude Bellingham.”
Why does Jurgen Klopp want Bellingham?
Midfield has become a bit of a problem area at Anfield. Both Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain continue to pick up injuries, while the likes of Jordan Henderson, 32, and James Milner, 36, are not getting any younger.
When you consider all of that, Liverpool could definitely do with signing someone like Bellingham, who is one of the best young midfielders in the world right now.
As per FBref, Bellingham has ranked in the 89th percentile for shot-creating actions, the 97th for dribbles completed, the 96th for touches in the penalty area and the 96th for progressive passes received among his positional peers over the last year.
Looking at the above, it is clear to see that the England international, who has been hailed as “world-class” by ex-Red Jamie Redknapp, is quite a technical and positive midfielder.
£104m is a large investment, but with Bellingham, Liverpool would be paying for potential, while the youngster should also be able to make an immediate impact at Anfield should he end up there.
