Werder Bremen join Borussia Mönchengladbach and Freiburg in their pursuit of Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Igor Matanović, according to DeichStube.
With Oliver Burke joining Union Berlin and André Silva returning to RB Leipzig following an uninspiring loan spell, Bremen are looking to bolster their attack for the 2025/26 season. In their sights is Matanović, who only managed 300 minutes in the top-flight for Eintracht last season. With fellow Bundesliga clubs interested alongside Bremen, interest in Matanović is certainly high and Eintracht are ready to part ways with the Croat, either on loan or a permanent basis.
Matanović has only scored two goals and provided one assist in 25 games for Eintracht Frankfurt since his move from St. Pauli in 2021. The now 22-year-old was loaned back to his former club for two seasons before spending the 2023/24 campaign on loan at 2. Bundesliga side Karlsruher, where he scored 16 goals in 32 games.
At Bremen, Matanović would provide competition for Marvin Ducksch, Justin Njinmah and Marco Grüll.
