Tottenham Hotspur have made the shocking decision to sack Ange Postecoglou as their head coach.
According to The Telegraph, Brentford’s Thomas Frank and Fulham’s Marco Silva are among the top contenders to replace the Australian boss at Spurs.
Tottenham endured a miserable 2024-25 Premier League campaign as they lost 22 of their 38 matches to finish in 17th place.
But Postecoglou led them to Europa League success to end their season on a high, beating Manchester United in the final in Bilbao.
Despite securing Champions League football, chairman Daniel Levy made a brutal decision to dismiss the 59-year-old.
Tottenham now have to appoint a replacement, with Thomas Frank and Marco Silva said to be the top contenders for the important post.
Frank has done an excellent job at Brentford as he has transformed them from a Championship side into an upper mid table team.
The Bees finished 10th in the Premier League last season under the Danish boss, collecting 56 points from 38 matches.
But Frank has never won a major trophy as a manager and has also not managed in a full European competition.
Silva has also been praised for his work at Fulham since taking over as manager in 2021.
The 47-year-old guided the Cottagers back to the Premier League in 2022 and has helped them become an established club in the English top-flight.
Silva hasn’t managed a top club but won the Greek title with Olympiacos, and also coached them in the Champions League.
