Lorenz Assignon has officially joined VfB Stuttgart from Stade Rennes.
VfB Stuttgart have completed the signing of French right-back Lorenz Assignon from Stade Rennes.
The 24-year-old has penned a contract with the Bundesliga club running until 2029.
Lorenz Assignon said:
“It feels good to be here. I’m very happy to be able to play for VfB in the future. It’s a club rich in tradition with fantastic fans. I’ve watched several of their games on TV and really like the team’s style of play. I’m very excited about the challenge ahead and want to do my part to help VfB continue to be successful.”
VfB Stuttgart sporting director Christian Gentner added:
“Lorenz fits very well with our playing philosophy thanks to his footballing ability and dynamism. He has proven his qualities in Ligue 1 and the Premier League in recent years and gained valuable experience.
“Lorenz has already reached a very high level in his game, and at the same time, we’re convinced he’ll take further steps in his development with us. We look forward to our time together and warmly welcome Lorenz to VfB.”
Assignon impressed for Rennes during the 2024/25 season, contributing four goals and five assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.
