Premier League Move Possible as 15 Favourites Named

Jadon Sancho finds himself in a sticky situation. He was on Manchester United’s radar during his glittering stint in Germany for Borussia Dortmund – but things didn’t go well at Old Trafford, lending itself to a move elsewhere. In the summer of 2024, Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea took him under his wing.

Sancho, 25, won the Europa Conference League final against Real Betis with the west Londoners – but they will not be turning his loan into a permanent move. In fact, the higher-ups are coughing up £5 million to send him back to Manchester.

These are who Jadon Sancho will be looking to either emulate or exceed after making the switch from Old Trafford to Stamford Bridge

Out of favour at Old Trafford – which is regarded as one of the greatest stadiums in Premier League history – there is very little chance that he’ll be reintegrated into Ruben Amorim’s future plans, especially after the club’s recent acquisition of Matheus Cunha.

With that in mind, although the wide man’s steep wages – believed to be around the £250,000-per-week mark – could prove to be an issue for any would-be suitors, Betfred, via The Sun, have revealed which 15 teams are best-placed to secure his services.

Sancho Back in Borussia Dortmund Colours?

In Germany, he plundered 53 goals and 67 assists

As alluded to, it was in Dortmund when Sancho – regarded as one of the worst signings in Manchester United history – caught the eye of Europe’s elites. Unpredictable and willing to bear down on goal, Sancho was at his best for the North Rhine-Westphalia outfit.

Signed in 2017 after starring in Manchester City’s academy ranks, the London-born winger spent three-and-a-half years – showing plenty of promise in that time – in Germany before being snapped up by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Red Devils in 2021.

A return to the Bundesliga is now on the cards. Issued odds of 5/1, Die Schwarzgelben could pounce on the chance to resign their former wonderkid. Whether the fact that his close pal, Marco Reus, departed at the end of the 2023/24 campaign could put him off remains to be seen.

Move to MLS or Saudi Arabia on The Cards

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are the respective faces of Major League Soccer (MLS) and the Saudi Pro League – and so, both divisions are becoming more attractive to those who are at earlier stages of their careers and not just players that are enjoying a swansong period before inevitably calling it a day.

The arrivals of Moussa Diaby, Ruben Neves and Jhon Duran are perfect examples of Saudi Arabia’s ever-growing attractiveness – but could Sancho, born in 2000, be the next player to move while in their, by research, peak years? A move to any club in the Middle East has been priced at 5/1.

A potential switch across the pond to the United States’ top flight, the MLS, is also on the cards for the once-promising winger, who has not played for England since a World Cup qualifier against Andorra in 2021. A move to either, however, could potentially prevent his involvement in Three Lions duties moving forward.

Serie A Trio Mooted as Potential Destinations

Sancho’s arrival could boost Inter Milan morale

Played at a lesser tempo than the Premier League, the Serie A can offer a different style of football: it’s easier for players who, like Sancho, want to build up with poise and often at a slower pace. And there are three clubs from Italy’s top flight that could be in for the English winger this summer.

That includes two sides from the capital: AC Milan and Inter, who are looking to regain confidence after losing 5-0 in the Champions League final to Paris Saint-Germain in embarrassing fashion. With Simone Inzaghi poised to leave the club, Sancho could offer the fans some excitement.

Elsewhere, the Nerazzurri’s local rivals have been given odds of 20/1. Juventus, Italy’s once-dominant side, are looking to regain their nationwide supremacy – and securing Sancho on the cheap, irrespective of his weekly take home, could be a good starting point. At the time of writing, they are priced at 33/1.

Sancho Could Remain in the Premier League

Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur all listed

Sancho’s Chelsea stint, which consisted of five goals and 10 assists in 41 outings, divided the Stamford Bridge outfit – but there were certainly glimmers of a player that could play in his homeland’s top flight week-in, week-out. And that’s why playing for another Premier League club could be on the cards.

Per Betfred’s odds, there are nine clubs in England’s top tier – including Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Arne Slot-led Liverpool, who won the 2024/25 Premier League campaign – that could pounce on his situation. Aston Villa, of all top flight sides, currently boast the best odds at 7/1.

Unai Emery, after losing Rashford and Marco Asensio, may be looking for additional stars from an attacking perspective – and Sancho’s experience, both domestically and on the European stage, could come in handy next season and beyond.

Tottenham Hotspur (10/1), Everton and Nottingham Forest (both 12/1) are other options for Sancho should he opt to remain in his homeland – but Manchester United chiefs may be wary of selling the one-time League Cup winner to a direct rival.
