La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Friday announced a fresh player exit from the club’s first-team setup.
The individual to have brought a close to his stint in Spain’s capital? Jesús Vallejo.
Defender Vallejo is for his part of course fresh off another campaign at Real Madrid which saw the 28-year-old play only a minor role.
In fact, appearances in Los Blancos’ final three fixtures of the term aside, Vallejo was handed just a solitary chance to impress by Carlo Ancelotti.
Ahead of the expiration of the Spaniard’s contract at the Santiago Bernabéu in the summer, the expectation, in turn, has long been that Vallejo would be allowed to depart on a free transfer.
And as alluded to above, on Friday, precisely as much has been confirmed.
As per an official statement across Real Madrid’s website and social media platforms:
‘Real Madrid CF announces that Jesús Vallejo has ended his time as a Real Madrid player.’
