New Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso has on Monday moved to reveal his appreciation for the talents of a leading member of his new squad’s midfield ranks.
The player in question? Jude Bellingham.
Midfielder Bellingham is of course expected to be one of the leading figures in the Alonso era in Spain’s capital.
The England international remained one of the first names on the team sheet at Real Madrid throughout this past season, continuing to build on his reputation as one of Europe’s standout young players.
Speaking to the media during his presentation as new Blancos manager on Monday, Bellingham’s name was therefore quickly put to the aforementioned Alonso.
And the Spanish tactician made use of the opportunity to heap praise on the 21-year-old, also confirming were he sees Bellingham fitting into his XI:
“Jude Bellingham is incredible. It’s a good moment to work with him and make him great. I see him as a midfielder.”
