Jon Jones Reveals Whether he’ll Fight Again, After Telling UFC His Intentions

Ever since he defeated Stipe Miocic last November at UFC 309, the future of Jon Jones as an active competitor in MMA has been up in the air, and his future has been the main topic of conversation in the MMA world. With the way ‘Bones’ was talking to the media just days before his fight against Miocic, all signs seemed to be pointing towards his UFC 309 fight being his last Octagon outing, however, in his post-fight interview, he seemed to do a u-turn by saying he and the UFC bosses had “some negotiating to do.”

Although Jones took pretty much zero damage in his last fight, over six months have passed, and we still don’t have concrete confirmation on whether he will be fighting Tom Aspinall in a huge heavyweight unification title fight. UFC president Dana White, just days ago, was asked about Jones’ future in the UFC and claimed ‘Bones’ will be fighting in 2025, however, after a series of mysterious X posts and a new video surfacing, it now seems that the consensus MMA GOAT could be checked out of the sport.

Jon Jones Says “I’m Done” When Asked About his MMA Future

Jones’ claim comes just days after Dana White said he would be fighting in 2025

Jon Jones’ UFC future has been up in the air now for over six months, and although just days ago UFC president Dana White revealed that ‘Bones’ would definitely be fighting in 2025, Jones himself has seemed to shut down those claims in a newly surfaced video where he is seen saying “I’m done.” Footage of the reigning UFC heavyweight champion in conversation with Kamil Gadzhiev was shared by Ushatayka on YouTube, and you can see that footage below.

Jones seemingly confirming that he is done with MMA has added yet another layer of confusion to the UFC’s plans as although ‘Bones’ seems adamant he won’t fight again, he remains the undisputed heavyweight champion and the UFC are preventing interim champion, Tom Aspinall, from fighting anybody else, despite the fact he won the interim title back in November 2023, and he is yet to fight for undisputed gold.

Both Jon Jones and the UFC seem to know what the next move for ‘Bones’ in MMA is, however, fans still aren’t aware, and they are quickly becoming very frustrated with the situation. Jones went on a posting spree on the 19th of May on X, formerly known as Twitter, and expressed his own confusion as to why the UFC hasn’t shared his plans with the fans yet, despite them clearly knowing.

Jones posted the following to X:

Hopefully clarification will be given soon by the UFC on Jones’ future, as fans of Tom Aspinall and the heavyweight division are getting tired of big fights not being made.
