Former Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys has demanded that a major rule be introduced to football while slamming Pep Guardiola for his behaviour towards Dean Henderson following the 2025 FA Cup final. Moments after Crystal Palace’s incredible victory over Manchester City, Guardiola was seen getting into a confrontation with the England goalkeeper, with the pair having to be separated by various personnel.
While the Catalan coach claimed he said nothing to the 28-year-old, Henderson’s account of what happened was far different, suggesting that words were exchanged. And Keys has laid into Guardiola for his actions.

Keys Slams Guardiola in Brtual Criticism
The presenter gave his thoughts on the post-match incident
Sharing his thoughts on his blog page, the 68-year-old suggested that managers should be banned from walking onto the pitch at the end of games as a result of Guardiola’s face-off with Henderson. The presenter also gave his thoughts on what he believed the former Manchester United shot-stopper should have said in response, while commending his professionalism.
“What was Guardiola doing? We’ve got to stop managers going on the pitch at the end of games. I thought Dean Henderson handled himself really well. He should’ve told him to f*** off. How dare he complain? What does he mean ‘It’s not fair play. You should not – it’s not fair’? Of course he was referring to Henderson’s time-wasting. And it is fair. It worked. It disturbed City and their rhythm.”
It is not the first time Guardiola has been spotted clashing with an opposition player after losing a game. The former Barcelona coach confronted Brighton’s Jan Paul van Hecke following his side’s 2-1 defeat to the Seagulls back in November.

The presenter believes that Guardiola’s days at the Etihad are numbered
Going in further on Guardiola, Keys explained that he believed the Catalan’s exit from City may be fast approaching, suggesting that a defeat to Bournemouth in their next game could speed up the process despite the fact he signed a new deal earlier in the campaign. If so, the presenter believes that the Cherries boss, Andoni Iraola, would be a prime candidate for the job himself.
“I think the result also hastens Guardiola’s departure,” Keys stated. “If they lose to Bournemouth tomorrow, the winning coach will be in pole position to replace him.”
