Those behind the scenes at Espanyol did their utmost to put a stop to the title celebrations of arch rivals Barcelona on Thursday evening.
This, of course, comes fresh off Barca being crowned La Liga champions for 2024/25.
Hansi Flick’s troops marked their return to action a short time ago, making the short trip across Catalunya for a meeting with the aforementioned Espanyol.
When all was said and done, the Blaugrana emerged on the right side of a 2-0 result, courtesy of goals on the part of Lamine Yamal, and Fermín López.
Upon the full-time whistle at RCDE Stadium confirming Barcelona’s 28th league title, the visitors’ players and staff, in turn, quickly broke into passionate celebrations.
And as alluded to above, the ground staff inside the stadium soon kicked into gear efforts to put an end to as much.
As showcased in the footage below, as Barca’s players jumped and danced on the pitch, the sprinklers were turned on, in an evident attempt to send them back to the dressing room as quickly as possible.
