Alassane Pléa (32) recently revealed that he would like to play for hometown club Lille OSC before he retires. According to L’Équipe, he may soon get his chance.
Jonathan David announced on Wednesday that he would be leaving Lille on a free transfer, five years after joining the club. The Canadian leaves big shoes to fill. David had netted 109 goals in 231 games in all competitions for Les Dogues and will once again finish as the club’s top scorer this season.
One David out, another David in
LOSC are already preparing for a future without David. As per L’Équipe, former OGC Nice forward Pléa, currently at Borussia Mönchengladbach, is one of the names being linked to replace him. The Frenchman’s contract with the Bundesliga club runs until the end of next season.
Another Canadian, going by the name David, Promise David (23), is also being linked with a move to Lille by Belgian sources. H has 21 goals in 39 games in all competitions this season with Union Saint-Gilloise.
