Everton Make Contact to Sign 28-Year-Old Former Tottenham Star

Everton have offered personal terms to centre-back Davinson Sanchez ahead of the summer transfer window, according to Sabah as per Sport Witness.

It has been a season of two halves for the Toffees. Before January, the club seemed set to be dragged into yet another relegation battle under Sean Dyche, who was sacked around the turn of the year. Since then, however, Everton have enjoyed a resurgence under David Moyes, who returned to the club 12 years after originally departing.

Along with Moyes, Everton now have new owners, with Farhad Moshiri’s controversial reign having come to an end, along with a new stadium to look forward to. After some testing seasons, the Toffees finally have reason to be optimistic again and in Moyes, have a secure and proven Premier League manager.

Unsurprisingly, Everton are already looking at potential summer transfers and it would seem that the Toffees are hoping to bolster their defensive options.

Sanchez is no stranger to English football. The defender moved to the Super Lig in 2023 from Tottenham Hotspur, having joined the Lilywhites back in 2017. The Colombian international racked up over 200 appearances for the North London side in all competitions, having been their record signing at the time of his arrival.

Everton would be smart to further their options in central defence. Michael Keane is, according to Transfermarkt, out of contract in the summer, while Jake O’Brien has been predominantly deployed as a right-back under Moyes’ management.

This leaves just James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite as options for the Toffees at the heart of their defence. In Sanchez, Everton would be signing a player that is accustomed to the Premier League and who, most crucially, would offer depth for the club in a position that desperately needs reinforcing.
