After becoming a regular (and successful ) sub off the bench for Oliver Glasner’s VfL Wolfsburg during the latter half of the 2020/12 campaign, young Polish striker Bartosz Bialek made just twelve largely irrelevant relief appearances for Germany’s green company team during the whole of the 2021/22 cycle. The once presumed heir to Dutch striker Wout Weghorst was pushed down the depth chart after the arrivals of Lukas Nmecha and Jonas Wind.
Having no real use for him the current squad, Wolfsburg have still opted to hold onto the player – under contract through 2024 – via a year-long-loian to Dutch club BSV Vitesse. This arrangement was concluded yesterday. At his unveiling, the 20-year-old Pollack declared his new Erdevisie home “the perfect choice”.

“After some very good talks, I can’t wait to meet my new teammates and compete with them,” Bialek noted at his unveiling, “I saw Vitesse fight for a draw last Saturday and I hope we can attain more points soon. I will give everything for the club and the fans.”

Bialek may soon have some Bundesliga company as it is anticipated that Bayern prospect Gabriel Vidovic will also join Vitesse on loan. The latest on the FCB youngster’s reported move to the Dutch outfit is that he should himself be unveiled today.
