Manchester United will ‘still have their eyes open’ going into the final days of the current transfer window, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.
The Red Devils have enjoyed a relatively productive first summer under the tutelage of new manager Erik ten Hag, bringing in a handful of exciting acquisitions to kickstart his time at the club.
What is the latest news involving Man Utd?
Offloading the unwanted fringe stars and underperforming big names has been a priority for United in recent months, with the likes of Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani and Juan Mata all seeking pastures new.
And Ten Hag has finally been able to secure replacements for them, bringing in Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro and Christian Eriksen, stamping his authority on the first-team squad.
Ajax winger Antony is also set to join the Dutch tactician’s revolution at Old Trafford following lengthy negotiations after a €100 million (£85m) fee was agreed between the two clubs.

Next through the door in the red half of Manchester could be Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dubravka, who is being lined up to provide cover and competition for David de Gea.
Yet Ten Hag may still be eager to add one or two more fresh faces to his setup if the transfer budget allows given the indifferent start to the Premier League season he has overseen.
What has Sheth said about Man Utd?
Sheth has told GiveMeSport that ‘funny things happen’ in the final days of transfer windows and has refused to rule out United doing any more business.
He said: “Who would have thought that Manchester United would have been spending close to £70 million on Casemiro? That wasn’t even being mooted until about a week before.
“So, funny things happen in the last few days of a transfer window, and I think United will still have their eyes open.”
Who could Man Utd sign?
Spanish outlet Sport has claimed that Barcelona are willing to sanction Sergino Dest’s sale in a €20m (£16.8m) deal or on a season-long loan with an obligation to buy.
The report states that United are set to ‘accelerate’ their pursuit of the 21-year-old with Ten Hag said to be ‘optimistic’ that he will be reunited with his former Ajax star.
And transfer guru Fabrizio Romano also disclosed in his column for CaughtOffside that the Catalan giants are trying to offload Dest in ‘every way’ as he is deemed surplus to requirements by Xavi.
