Man Utd Star Needs ‘Crazy’ U-turn to Play for Amorim Again

Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho’s future will be one of the big topics for the upcoming weeks. Because the English winger started the season in an excellent way after joining Chelsea on loan, but in recent months he hasn’t been at the same level and so the story of his future is now open.

But what is the exact agreement and the details of the deal between Chelsea and Manchester United?

Chelsea Committed to Sancho Buy Clause in Summer

Blues can send him back to Man United by paying £5m compensation fee

When Chelsea won the race over Juventus to sign Sancho last summer, in the final hours of the summer transfer window, they agreed to pay the salary of Sancho until the end of the season, plus a loan fee.

But they also committed to an obligation to buy clause worth between £20m and £25m, based on the final position in Premier League table. Sources suggest it will be around £25m if Chelsea qualify for the Champions League next season.

Obligation to buy means that Chelsea must sign Sancho, but in the agreement the Blues also included a counter option to eventually send Sancho back to Manchester United in the summer by paying a £5m compensation fee. So in addition to the loan fee and salary, Chelsea could get rid of Sancho by adding an extra £5m in June.

It’d mean a very expensive loan of course, but also not committing to spending £25m and paying a big salary to the former Borussia Dortmund winger. The decision will be completely up to the Blues, and it won’t be made right now.

Chelsea insist they’re only focused on the present and the next games. That’s what Enzo Maresca says in public but also what the club says internally, as Champions League football would too be important and crucial as a step forward for the project. So Chelsea expect the very best from Jadon Sancho until the end of the season, before making their final decision.

Jadon Sancho ‘Very Happy’ at Chelsea

‘Crazy’ turnaround needed for Sancho to play for United again

What about the player’s side? Sources guarantee that Sancho’s still very happy at Chelsea, despite his recent poor form and criticism. He’s committed, focused on doing his best for the club, happy with his time spent at Stamford Bridge and trying his best to help Chelsea at a crucial stage of the season.

He’s not planning in any case to return to Manchester United, something seen as “almost impossible” by those close to the player – and also those close to Manchester United. It’d take a crazy turnaround, completely driven by the manager and not by the management who decided to sell the player last summer, in order to make it happen. It doesn’t look realistic.

If Chelsea decide to send Sancho back, Manchester United would be prepared to find another club, another solution for Sancho and make some money as this would also be the desire on the player’s side.

There is no intention to continue together, but again, it all depends on Chelsea and they haven’t told Man United about Sancho being sent back to them. So the story is considered absolutely open, and the final games could prove important, crucial to deciding Sancho’s future at Stamford Bridge.
