In a recent tweet, Telefoot revealed that Chelsea are keeping tabs on Lens full-back Jonathan Clauss. It is believed that the Blues head coach Thomas Tuchel is a big admirer of the French defender and could launch a move for him in the future.

Clauss’ Impressive Form In French Football

Clauss has caught the eye by producing a run of consistent performances on the right side of Lens’ defence. The 29-year-old has scored five goals and secured 11 assists in 40 appearances for the French club this season in various competitions.

The Strasbourg-born sensation has given a good account of himself by averaging 1.7 tackles, 2.0 interceptions, 1.1 clearances, 1.1 shots, 2.0 key passes, 2.1 crosses and 0.8 dribbles per 90 minutes in Ligue 1.

Clauss is primarily a right-back who is versatile enough to function as a right-wing-back or as a right-winger if needed.

The Lens star could serve as a decent replacement for Cesar Azpilicueta and is good enough to give Reece James a run for his money in the race to secure a regular starting spot at Stamford Bridge in the coming seasons.
