Valencia are set to beat Real Sociedad to sign Edinson Cavani, as broken by Fabrizio Romano.
Cavani has been looking to play in La Liga and several teams in Spain have shown interest in signing him throughout the summer.
Yesterday it was reported that Valencia and Real Sociedad were the two clubs closest to signing the Uruguayan.
However, it appears as though Los Che are in pole position in securing the services of Cavani. Valencia are offering the 35-year-old a two-year contract as opposed to the Basque side’s one-year deal.
According to the latest reports, Cavani is discussing the finer details of the contract with the club before committing to Gennaro Gattuso’s project.
The Uruguayan international is expected to undergo his medical at Valencia this coming week if the two sides agree on all aspects of the deal.
Cavani last played for Manchester United. He accumulated 59 appearances for The Red Devils in all competitions over the course of two seasons and scored 19 goals.
