Barcelona star Pedri has named two fellow members of Hansi Flick’s squad as players whom he would be happy to see lift the Ballon d’Or this year.
The subject of the next ‘Golden Ball’ has of course long proven a prominent one in the chatter in Catalunya’s capital.
This comes with a number of Barcelona’s standout stars in the midst of nothing short of sensational individual campaigns.
Amid an ongoing search for the treble, the likes of Raphinha, Lamine Yamal and the aforementioned Pedri have all been named as legitimate contenders to be named world football’s best player.
Speaking during an interview with TV3 (as cited by Fabrizio Romano) this week, the subject of such chatter was in turn put to Barca’s midfield maestro himself.
And Pedri made use of the opportunity to point towards attacking pair Raphinha and Lamine as ‘the ones who make the difference’, explaining:
“Usually players who get many numbers win it! I prefer that Raphinha or Lamine win it. They are the ones who make the difference. As long as the team wins titles, I’m happy!”
