Fiorentina head coach Raffaele Palladino reacted in shock after his full-back Robin Gosens was not called up for Germany’s forthcoming Nations League clash with Italy.
“I am surprised by the lack of nomination [from Julian Nagelsmann to the Germany squad].
“I am not the national coach. But Gosens is having a great season and is also creating a lot offensively,” Palladino explained.
Since his move to Florence, Gosens has laid claim to the left-back spot where he has scored 3 goals and assisted 4 in 25 league games.
At still just 30 years of age, the former Union Berlin man still has a lot to offer.
Furthermore, neither of his competition in David Raum or Maximilian Mittelstadt have been particularly consistent in German colours.
