Finn Dahmen will be staying in Mainz rather than join Augsburg, according to Sky Germany.
Despite agreeing personal terms with Augsburg, the 24-year-old goalkeeper will not be signing for ‘Die Fuggerstädter’ this summer.
Augsburg were reportedly prepared to pay €1.5 million (including bonuses) for Dahmen, but Mainz boss Christien Heidel blocked the move, mainly because it wasn’t possible to find a suitable replacement for Dahmen.
The 24-year-old is out of contract with Mainz next summer, at which point he’s expected to leave on a free transfer.
