Real Sociedad have decided to accept Newcastle United’s offer for striker Alexander Isak, as reported by El Diario Vasco.
The fee is reported to be worth €70m, and it could rise to €75m depending on add-ons.
After four years at La Real, the 22-year-old is set to play in the Premier League. The deal will be the most expensive sale in the history of the Basque club.
The Sweden international scored in the club’s 4-1 defeat to Barcelona on Sunday.
La Real are making an excellent return on their investment. The striker joined the club from Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth €10m.
At Anoeta, they are already working on finding a replacement for Isak with just seven days to go until the transfer window closes.
At just 22, he has already played 37 times for Sweden, scoring nine goals.
The move will see the striker become Newcastle’s record signing. He had previously been linked to Arsenal.
