Benfica coach Roger Schmidt says it’s up to Julian Weigl to decide if he wants to leave the club before the transfer window closes.
With Borussia Mönchengladbach said to be keen on taking Weigl on loan, Schmidt has told Prime Video that the 26-year-old can leave Benfica if he wants to.
“There may be an opportunity for him to change clubs. At the end of the day, that’s his decision.”
“Now we will see what happens in the next two weeks. That’s the situation.”
Weigl has been limited to just 77 minutes of competitive football so far this season.
